gentle into that good night

NBC closes down The West Wing at the end of the season, ABC/AP reports. Don’t know what the producers were thinking.. they should have just taken cues from Star Trek:TNG and graciously retire when the fan base started crumbling. Not that it stopped The X-Files from going 3-4 more painful season full of rubbish before it went off air. *sigh*

The good news then, is that I have only have to buy one more box set. Heh.

… rage, rage against the dying of the light.

I agree that the show hasn’t been as good since Sorkin left, but I don’t think that it was disastrous for the show to continue until the end of the President’s second term. I think it is a perfect place to finish the series. I was not looking forward to a new administration and new characters that I would never esteem as much as Josh, CJ, Leo, Charlie, Jed, Toby, Sam (my dream-lover), and all of their assistants.

I once said that I’d marry Josh Lyman but have a torrid affair with Sam Seaborn. Teehee.
I kept watching eventhough I really didn’t like where the stories were taking the characters. Most disappointing of all in the post-Sorkin years: they didn’t bring the funny!

*g* Sam is my dream lover too. Mmmmm, that dark hair… I’ve always thought that Martin Sheen is pretty good looking for a geezer. Has anyone seen the Diamond Rio video he was in?

NBC canceled Will and Grace too.

I haven’t watched WW in years but I am thinking of catching up by getting the box sets.
