completely missing the point

I flipped through all the news channels on Astro this evening and found them all focused on the mideast crisis. Where is the reporting on what’s going on in the rest of the world?

On Monday at 1519 hours local time a tsunami crashed into Java (it just isn’t Indonesia’s year) and come Tuesday The Star newspaper has this as their front page; sorry I couldn’t get a bigger image of it:

Have we, as a nation, taken our celebrity obsession to the extreme that a seemingly respectable newspaper makes a *wedding* its front page news and relegating a tsunami to its inner bowels?

This is precisely why I hardly read the papers anymore. When there is news to report they choose to act like some cheap rag tabloid. And when there aren’t news we make headlines out of the political headbutting(thanks, Zidane) that’s been going on.

Membosankan!
