A little over twelve hours from now Michael Schumacher will line up for his final Formula 1 race. He starts at P10 and so, barring some uber freakish turn of events, will probably see Fernando Alonso win the drivers championship.
The BMW team saluted the great one by displaying ‘Thanks Michael’ and ‘Danke Michael’ on their cars’ rear wing during practice.
Thanks, Mike. It’s been a pleasure. I’ll be cheering for you still on Sunday… if my beemer boys aren’t doing so hot or if it looks like you still have a shot.
It’s gonna be a melancholic day to see F1 losing its best driver.
