Trinity University beats Millsaps with a last minute (I mean, it did take an entire minute) 15 laterals play from their own 39 yard line with *2 seconds* left on the game clock.
I have to disagree with those calling this better than The Play. I disagree for two reasons: one being that this didn’t involve the Stanford Band and two, it’s Division III football. Nothing against DIII football, but the higher up you get the more discipline and precision is called for which consequently doesn’t allow for plays like that to happen. Not to mention the meaning of the win by Cal through that wacky play in the rivalry between Cal and Stanford.
And finally, we could get into a debate about what it means to be ‘better than’ when comparing anomalies like these.
This play by Trinity, in my opinion, is the best display of rugby techniques in football.
