from the Star (because where else do I go for lol-rific news to share?):
MIC hires IT experts to tackle online allegations
KUALA LUMPUR: The MIC has hired two information technology (IT) specialists to rebut allegations against the party on the Internet.
“We would make sure that the allegations are replied to within 24 hours,” president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said here at the 62nd Selangor MIC delegates conference here on Saturday.
Sooooo… I read the article twice, no, thrice now and I still don’t see how in the hell it makes sense to hire technology specialists to deal with what is essentially a PR problem. Just because it is the internet doesn’t mean you have to get somebody with IT skills ah! *headdesk*
Does having IT people mean their responses are quicker because they won’t have to hunt-and-peck at a statement as opposed to a regular PR guy who is assumed to be non-internet savvy? If so, this makes me lol even more than before.
Gah!!!
