The storm on Wednesday (which I didn’t report cause I was too irked about walking in flood waters to the library) caused B’town plenty of damage.
But it was Friday evening’s rain that brought Monroe county to its knees and it is now officially a disaster area along with 41 other counties in Indiana. Bloomington, I’ve always said, lives below a special line and everything crazy weatherwise happens north of us.
Last night, we came really close to being included in the special line where the storm put Martinsville underwater following – what else but – a flashflood. (But at the time of writing, water is slowly receding).
Indiana 37, the main road that connects Btown to the rest of the world is still closed per a drivers report at 11am. Sigh. The storm that hit Indiana affected the entire midwest – from the tornadoes in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and even a few tornadoes in Chicago.
Midwest living.
Glad to hear you’re all right.
The weather held for us. Un-frickin’-believable.
