Hey! It’s been awhiles since we’ve had some WTF-worthy news from back home. So here’s one: yoga is haram according to the Fatwa Council. This due to the fact that there are elements of chanting and praying. It’s been justified by reason that even Singapore and Egypt has such edicts as well.
The council has been busy lately. Didn’t I just read that they had another edict out saying that ‘tomboys’ are also haram? Which begs the question of how that’s defined.
God, why do you have such morons claiming to serve you?
What I want to know is, what power does the Fatwa Council have exactly?
Well I’m going to do it anyway so whatever. They wouldn’t know what yoga is if they were standing in a yoga classroom with a Dummies for Yoga guide in front of them.
PpFt – fatwa council edicts becomes law when it is gazetted.. by that I’m assuming the cabinet has to just say yes.
