How many times do you have to watch a single episode to take it all in?

Twice in this case.
The first run is to just stare at the force of nature that is Alex Cabot.
The second time around I might actually pay attention to the story.
I am so glad they brought back some old faces to ease her into her old job. And they even threw in a Cabot-Petrovsky Moment! *thud* Could it have been more perfect?
Well, actually, yea… the ‘splanashun of why she’s back needed more work. The story needed editing. But you don’t have to listen to me critique the writing.
Now…. is it (next) Tuesday yet?
Well… Or twice, because … The first time you had to pretend you were just mildly excited to see her back. And then a second time when you were alone, with slow-mos for every scene with her and Liv. bg
Oh my … Okay, once you’ve watched it a FOURTH time, you’ll notice Liv’s eyes wandering down on Alex (when she first sees her on the street) and coming to a quick rest somewhere chest-height.
THEN you notice, that Alex’s shirt is inexplicably unbottoned to almost indecent extend — hey! it’s friggin’ New York in January! Was that special wardrobe-based subtext for us? I don’t complain, thx for the gift!
Oh, happy March-Days.
Btw – weren’t you also waiting for Alex to reach over, extend a finger or two, push Liv’s chin up, and say something sweet-funny like: “Sweety, close your mouth, it’s not healthy to inhale so much Manhattan air at once.”
bwahahaha!! you’ve just made my morning. Isn’t subtext great? I’m still stuck on the maintext awesomeness of Cabot though. Her reactions while taking in the gruesome crime scene having been away from it for so many years are brilliant. What I’ve missed most since Alex left has been the chemistry the ADA has had with everyone, cops, prosecutors and (especially) judges. And right now I’m just basking in all that awesomesauce.
They’d better give us a better explanation next week and am I the only one hoping that Alex is going to be the one whom Liv tells about Sealview?
