everybody panic

Mick Betancourt, a writer on SVU, is on twitter answering questions. Someone asked him if he wrote ‘Zebras’ the SVU season finale and he replied:

@bubbleguru this episode was written by Amanda Green and Dan Truly. Two really great writers – and I’m not just saying that

Well, first of all.. Mr. Betancourt wrote episodes like ‘Fight’ aka ChesterLakeFail back in season 9. His credits this season includes ‘Wildlife’ and ‘Snatched’ and the measles episode, ‘Selfish’. So of course he’d say Amanda Green is a great writer.

But did you shriek in terror like I did when you realized Daniel Truly is going to be partly responsible for the finale? Oh god. Ohgodohgodohgod. Daniel Teen Pregnancy Asshat Astronaut Crazy Birdie Truly.

Help us, Obiwan Kenobi! You’re our only hope!

all rice’d out

This happened awhile ago so I hope I’m attributing it to the right person. (Can’t imagine it would be anyone else though)

Me: Hungry lah…

Bro: Me too.

Me: What to eat ah? I don’t feel like having rice tonight.

Bro: Don’t feel like eating rice? Are you asian or not?!

Obviously, he wasn’t serious. There are many times, tonight for instance when it was burgers, when rice is not served.

Still, thought it was hilarious when he said it.

California

I have no words for you. You make me sad. I’m going to go cry in New York’s arms. But first I’m going to sleep on it. Maybe I won’t hate you so much tomorrow. I doubt it. It feels like the morning of November 5th again. Except that day it was happy and sad. Today it was just sad. I feel like puking.

California, you need to come to your senses. I have no words.

UPDATE:

OK, California. We can talk, some, now that I’ve read you Supreme Court’s ruling… and even agree with it. I’m a little disturbed that I concur with their reasonings but hey, what do I know about the law.

So, like I already said last November: Channel your anger and frustrations in grassroots movements to repeal this amendment in 2010.

That is all.

Friday’s xkcd had Mathnet reference!

It was only this past Monday that I was telling someone how much I loved Mathnet and Square One TV. The Mathnet series was a spoof of, duh, Dragnet and each episode was about 5-7 minutes, if I recall. In place of cops, you get two mathmeticians. One of them is obviously George there and his partner is Kate Monday. They solved crime using maths (no, not like they do in that silly Numb3rs show). The partners dressed in jacket and tie, and wore shoulder holsters that held a calculator. Oh, that killed me. I was a crime show junkie before I knew what “procedurals” meant.

Whatever happened to good educational programs eh?

I’m always right – SVU edition

On 30th April, I said:

- there’s something really fishy about bingbangbongboy’s role
- I have a theory: he’s the killer in the finale.

And now, watch the trailer to SVU’s 10th season finale…

The voice that says “I didn’t want to have to hurt you too,” has GOT to be BingBangBongBoy.

Granted, it doesn’t take alot to figure that a random insertion of a semi-recurring character this late in the season always seems fishy.

Hah. As I said in an email earlier: “How sick is it that I’m excited to see the ep? Damn the trailers. I know it lies and yet I want to believe the lies.”

Do Eet

My brother and I were in Putrajaya a few weeks back. (Had a trip to the Foreign Ministry) Nyways, as we were driving down the main boulevard we noticed these huge banners hung on a few major govt buildings. This, the Palace of Justice– and now let’s take a moment to cringe over that name and move on…

The imperative tone of the banner amused us both. We wondered if it was meant for those flers daydreaming and staring out from the building across the street, and the ones taking their tea breaks at 8:20am, 11am, and 3pm.

It’s not just a Putrajaya thing either. I’ve seen the banners in photos of government offices in other cities in the newspapers.

Pretty sure it’s not effective. Bet you’ll still get the same amounts of “Tak tahu…” when you have to deal with the gomen.

Cabot-y goodness

Because this was Stephanie March’s final episode (for this season! FOR THIS SEASON! We must have hope!!). And because there was so much Alex. And because I’m trying not to be mad at Neal Baer for lying about the “BIG SHOW” that was supposed to happen for Liz Donnelly and Alex Cabot.

Stephanie, we miss you already! Tell Mariska and Chris to agree to renew contracts only if they bring back your character.

taking liberties

I’m STILL watching this episode and it’s Alex’s last ep. It’s probably not going to end well but can I just say:

  1. It’s the old hands that know how to write the SVU characters right. And Dawn DeNoon is an old hand.
  2. Olivia, honey, the blue top has to go. But the black vest, the attitude and general bad-assery? Humminahumminahumminawooowoo!
  3. Alex Cabot arguing jurispridence is so hot. I say again: Alex Cabot arguing jurisprudence is so. hot.
  4. The guest stars are, so far, pretty creepy… in the good way.
  5. Elliot is being unstabler again.. oi. This is where I stop liking the episode.

Now I’m finished with the ep. Wokay. There are exceptions to exceptions so stay close and you won’t get lost…

This would’ve been a decent episode if it had not been Alex’s last one. *Unless*  they’re leaving the opening to keep Alex next season and somehow just not involve an ADA in the finale. … That’s utter cockshit but I’ll go with it if only to keep my sanity.

I swear to god… they’ve got to stop with the twists and turns. Stay the course, writers! Stay the course! Here we have Dawn DeNoon writing lines that are so Stabler-ish and Benson-ish and Cabot-ish… it was almost like the old times! Except for the treat-you-viewers-like-morons moments. Sigh. This is why SVU can never be The X-Files. Lowest common denominator fail.

On the brighter side, I really did like the guest star judge. His voice is so… nice. And don’t tell me Cabot doesn’t put the moves on judges. I knew Judge Ridenour always had a soft spot for her. I’m also pretty sure she has Judge Seligman in her pocket.

In conclusion, I’d rewatch this the same way I rewatch “Lead”… with very little brain activity.

EDIT: Forgot to mention- the last 3 minutes? UTTER BOLLOCKS! Cry me a fucking river alright. Could’ve totally spent that time on Alex. But no.

Krispy Kreeeeeeeeme

I got a giant backlog of pics to post. Will go slow so as not to overkill on the yummehness.

Dude, can I have that freezer behind that says “Eat Krispy Kreme Doughnuts”??

In the end we came home with half a dozen glazed, a couple chocolate glazed, a couple custard-filled ones and two raspberry or strawberry or some other berry type thing.

Oh my god. It’s so good. And so bad. It’s a damn good thing this store is in the city and not at One Utama. But I hear that they’re planning on opening a second store at Megamall. Die.
