Gillian Anderson. still interesting to me

The Telegraph has an interview with the former XF star, in their Theatre section, no less… Gillian Anderson Bares All:

The first surprise is Gillian Anderson’s accent. I have heard about how she can slip from English to American as effortlessly as silk runs through fingers.

The second surprise is how insouciant and unguarded she is. … [H]ere she is sitting in a London bar at eight o’clock at night telling me about where her 14-year-old daughter goes to school, how she has been enjoying taking the bus to rehearsals for her new play and, well, how she had to cajole her partner into having sex with her. No, really.

It’s a nice little piece, fairly penetrating and unglossy. I like the parts where she reflects on her days with TXF, her honest assessment about her getting pregnant with Piper in the first season, talking about her low self-image in later seasons, and fighting for pay parity.

The interviewer does seem a little taken by Gillian. But then again, who could resist the X-factor charm? Not me.

Also, I’m going to start using the word ‘insouciant’ in daily conversations now. It just sounds so delicious.

(Oh yea, I twittered about this but didn’t mention it on the blog: Gillian will be playing a villian in the new season of Dr. Who)
